Places of Interest & Local Attractions to visit during your stay at Brookville House

The village of Blackrock gets its name from the black rock that lies offshore and once marked the city limits. It is a typical village offering golf facilities, sailing clubs, chic shops and cafés as well as traditional Irish pubs. It has two big shopping centres and the UCD Smurfit School of Business is very close to us. Locally we have many lovely parks and a wide selection of top class Restaurants and Bars within walking distance. The charming town of Dalkey, with its medieval streetscape (is only 5 minutes away from us, as is Dun Laoghaire (with it's promenade along the seafront which runs up pass the beaches of Sandycove and Glasthule, the James Joyce Tower and the Forty Foot) and the picturesque coastal towns of Monkstown (renowned for it's restaurants and Culturlann na hEireann where Comhaltas offer seisiuns evenings of Irish Music, Song, Dance and Storytelling called Seisiun) and Killiney (with breathtaking scenic walks up Killiney Hill). There are numerous Golf Clubs and Health Clubs closeby and Co. Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland is on our doorstep. Enjoy some of our beautiful countryside by visiting the enchanting Glendalough, the 6th century monastic settlement, Powerscourt House Gardens and Mount Usher Gardens. We can organise sightseeing and city tours for you. See our website http://www.brookvilleguesthouse.com for further information or email us at brookvillebandb@yahoo.ie
